Why can't I receive any mail?

Hey. I have just made a new yahoo id because i need it for my CV. The problem is I can;t receive any mail, for example I asked a friend to send me an email on my new ID and he said he got a respons from MAILER_daemon or something like that:

"Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<***********@yahoo.com>:
Remote host said: 554 delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a yahoo.com account "

What is the problem? Do I have to wait for the new email to be processed or what?
